Hi, I’m Callie
If you’re picturing a traditional “how does that make you feel” type of interaction when you imagine therapy - take a breath… That’s not my style. Therapy doesn’t have to be intimidating, sterile, or cliche.
I bring rigorous clinical training and evidence-based strategies to the table, but I translate them into practical, real-world tools you can actually use in the daily grind. Show up with the real-life problem, willingness to try something different, and I’ll take care of rest.
Much of my career has been spent working alongside people whose lives and professions expose them to trauma, crisis, and chronic stress. I have provided therapy in juvenile detention centers, residential substance use treatment facilities, jails, and law enforcement settings. I have also served as a mental health professional responding alongside first responder agencies following critical incidents. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of trauma and the ways it can affect not only an individual’s mental and physical well-being, but also their relationships, families, and ability to function both on and off the job.
My work with first responders extends beyond the therapy room. I provide wellness programming for first responder organizations and engage in public speaking, trainings, and workshops focused on improving wellness, resilience, and quality of life within these professions.
My connection to this community is also personal. As a former military spouse and now a law enforcement spouse, I have firsthand experience with the culture, demands, and unique stressors that can accompany these professions—and the impact they can have on the entire family. This perspective, combined with my clinical experience, allows me to approach my work with first responders, military members, veterans, and their families with both professional expertise and a genuine understanding of the culture in which they live and work.
My training in EMDR, Cognitive Processing therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), and Gottman Method Couple’s Therapy has also been intentional. I have pursued approaches with strong clinical applications for the concerns I see within these communities - from trauma and disrupted sleep to relationship strain, communication difficulties, and rebuilding trust and connection at home.
I care deeply about my client’s growth, and because of that, I take a compassionate and direct approach. We connect dots, create growth-focused interventions, celebrate wins, and find the root of what is keeping you stuck. We can laugh, keep it real, and get straight to what matters.
If your faith is an important anchor in your life, don’t leave it in the waiting room. Whether you want to actively integrate spiritual principles into your sessions, or you simply want a therapist who inherently shares and respects your foundational values, bringing that perspective to therapy facilitates deep transformation.
Just like my clients, there is a person behind the profession. I believe it is important to know a little about the person you begin this collaborative and challenging process with.
When I’m not in the therapy room, you will find me somewhere outdoors with my kiddo, pup, and spouse - biking, hiking, paddleboarding, walking, weightlifting, gardening, working on house projects, auto projects, or just walking around local towns window shopping. Let’s be honest: I have a hard time sitting still.
Bottom line… I take the role I play in your journey very seriously. Lifestyle and therapy should complement one another and help facilitate healing. I keep it real and am passionate about finding practical solutions that facilitate growth, healing, understanding, and transformation.
You can expect to find your Shield of Strength.
