Frequently Wondered Questions
-
Psychotherapy is a fancy word to describe a collaborative, and structured process where you leverage a clinical sounding board (therapist), to deconstruct complex internal patterns, unpack burdensome experiences, and learn practical tools to navigate daily challenges where those things are no longer limiting to you.

It really depends on what you're hoping to work on and how consistent we are with our game plan. Usually, if we're tackling one specific goal using a focused approach, a standard stretch is around 12 sessions. But we always tailor it to what you actually need

It depends. My standard of care for couple’s includes an intake assessment, individual sessions, and treatment plan before we really “dive in” to the work. This approach allows for a deep understanding of the relational dynamics and which specific interventions will be the most beneficial for the relationship. While it takes time to feel like we are getting started, it allows for progress to occur much faster. With consistency and utilization of tools outside of the therapy room, couple’s begin to see the relational dynamic change within the first few sessions

Frequency depends on a few things. Presenting problems and preference. Frequency can vary as progress is made. Some interventions are recommended to occur weekly which helps support outcomes and change.
-
Therapy may be terminated when you have achieved your goals, if you or the therapist feels that therapy is no longer beneficial, or if you fail to comply with treatment recommendations.
If therapy is terminated, you may be provided with referrals to other professionals for further assistance if needed.
